The benefits of 3D visualisation

Create your ideal world more affordably, more efficiently, and with endless flexibility

There's no world that changes as fast as marketing and design. That makes efficiency one of the highest priorities. Anyone wanting to present their products to customers used to need significant resources and time, and would inevitably run into the limits of what was possible. Not so with 3D visualization, where anything is possible. It breaks through the traditional boundaries of marketing and opens up countless new possibilities. The benefits? There are plenty.

First things first: what is 3D product visualization?

In essence, 3D product visualization is the process of creating digital, photorealistic images or animations of products or scenes. In other words, recreating the world digitally. If Unilin wants to showcase its floors visually, it used to have to build different sets, drag around spotlights, pieces of flooring and props, and then anxiously wait for the result. With 3D visualization we build the set entirely virtually and place that floor (or any other product) within it. The rendering quality we can achieve today is remarkably high, to the point where the images are indistinguishable from real photos. The interior design industry is an obvious fit for this way of working, but it's certainly not the only one. From cars to perfume to real estate: there's more 3D visualization out there than you'd think.

The benefits of 3D visualization

Simply put: 3D visualization is a more affordable, more efficient, and a thousand times more flexible alternative to traditional photography and videography. With just one virtual model, you can produce endless content. From a single scene, you can quickly create moving animations and detail shots, or change the camera angle. Want to repaint the wall a different color, or see the scene at dusk instead of in daylight? No problem at all. Once the 3D scene is set up, it's incredibly easy to create variations without the constraints of the physical world. And you can take that quite literally: we can make a chair float, resize items larger or smaller, and add text. There's also no resolution limit in our visualizations, unlike with traditional photography. The rise of AI is also making scaling up even easier. One downside can be that rendering high-quality images takes time. We bridge that gap with render farms that can produce fast, high-resolution results.

The human factor

Skeptics might argue that this leaves creativity entirely up to the computer. But a unique strength of our 3D visualizations is precisely the human factor. Our team consists of interior architects and designers with a strong sense of aesthetics and atmosphere. That's what makes the difference for us: the 3D visualizations we create perfectly match the customer's taste. For companies like Wever & Ducré, who used to have to book physical locations like hotel rooms to photograph their light fixtures, 3D visualization brings enormous time savings and countless new possibilities, without having to compromise on aesthetics.

3D product visualization is the way to present products now, and certainly in the future. No more waiting for the perfect lighting, or searching for the right set pieces. With 3D visualization, everything is within a mouse click's reach.
